2006: During the week of Sept 11-15, as part of Ford's Global Week of Caring, Ford GLOBE sponsored a food/clothing drive to benefit the Ruth Ellis Center Volunteers collected clothing, food, dinnerware products, personal hygiene products, laundry supplies and other necessities for the Ruth Ellis Center Drop-In program where they provide shower and laundry facilities and daily feed 80 LGBT teens and young adults who are experiencing homelessness. |

On September 13th, as part of Ford's Global Week of Caring, Ford GLOBE sponsored a "Paint In" at the Ruth Ellis Center under Ford's 16-Hour Community Service program. Six Ford employee volunteers spent the day taping, spackling, and painting "Ruth's House", the transitional living residence for LGBT young adults who are transitioning from homelessness to completing an education and entering the workforce. |

On July 11th, Ford GLOBE members volunteered at the Ruth Ellis Center under Ford's 16-Hour Community Service program. Volunteers spent the day cleaning and organizing the warehouse that stores clothing and personal effects that have been donated to the center for use by LGBT teens and young adults who are experiencing homelessness. |

2005: In December the Southeast Michigan Chapter of Ford GLOBE sponsored a holiday gift raiser for the Ruth Ellis Center, a shelter and outreach program for homeless glbt youth. This year members raised food donations to feed Ruth's kids at the Drop-In Center. 2004: The Southeast Michigan SEMI Chapter of Ford GLOBE sponsored a holiday gift raiser for the Ruth Ellis Center, a shelter and outreach program for homeless glbt youth. In addition to collecting gifts for Ruth's kids, a fund was started to purchase a new refrigerator for the drop-in center. GLOBE members contributed half the funds, which were then matched by a private donor. 2001: The Southeast Michigan Chapter of Ford GLOBE sponsored the renovation of Affirmations GLBT Community Center Library. Volunteers moved out the books and shelving, sanded, patched and then painted the room. After the paint dried, the bookshelves were moved back in and repaired. In addition to the events listed above, Ford GLOBE members (Michigan) have also supported AIDS organizations in their fundraising efforts: AIDS Partnership MI, AIDS Walks (AIDS Walk Detroit, and AIDS Walk MI), Midwest AIDS Prevention Project (MAPP). |

Also, a GLOBE member has sponsored a holiday meal raiser for AIDS Partnership Michigan the past 8 years. Jeff and his group of volunteers purchase turkeys and other food for holiday dinner for 124 families. After they cook the food, they box it up and hand it off to a delivery service for delivery to clients. |
