- UK CHAPTER OBJECTIVES -
- To assist in attracting, utilising and retaining talented individuals.
- To protect Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual and Transgender employees from
discrimination through advocating fair employment policies.
- To provide an opportunity for GLOBE members to network, communicate
and provide mutual support.
- Create a working environment free of harassment and homophobic behaviour.
- To be a positive and visible group expressing Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual
and Transgender concerns and sensitivities in the workplace.
- To ensure a secure and equitable benefit programme for all employees,
which recognises domestic partners and non-traditional families.
- To support diversity awareness training and education.
- To advocate and value diversity in the workforce.
- 2009 DRAFT OBJECTIVES -
- To assist in continuous progress toward a ONE Team environment by supporting equitable benefits, a safe workplace free from harassment and by providing an understanding of LGBT workplace concerns as a resource to management and employees.
- Ford of Britain is reviewing diversity education options.
- Continue to monitor and encourage.
- To promote a positive reputation for Ford among LGBT employees and consumers by participating in community outreach and communicating Ford's inclusive environment and employment policies and practices.
- Participate in Ford's 2009 diversity events.
- Assist colleagues, on request, who have harassment issues via HR.
- Promote the good work done by GLOBE in the past to increase purchase consideration with GLBT consumers.
- To encourage and assist Ford in its efforts to achieve greater market share among GLBT consumers.
- Encourage Ford of Britain to sponsor Pride event(s) in 2009.
- Promote / support Ford's focus on Pride Football as a unique marketing asset aligned to corporate sponsorship.
- Look at how Ford dealerships in the U.S. have advertised in LGBT media and have an open door policy to Gay customers. A 'gay-friendly' business plan for a British dealership is a work in progress.
- To provide a venue for networking, socializing, and communication among Ford's (including subsidiaries and affiliates) active or retired glbt employees, contractees, and allies.
- Identify a social secretary who can create and publicise social events.
- Consider adopting a venue for socials or a number of venues and rotate so as many member scan meet should they wish to do so.
- Encourage members to share whatever social plans they have, if they are happy for other members to attend.
